In order to create a good foreign language learning atmosphere and further promote the improvement of our school's students' comprehensive English application ability, on October 18, 2022, the School of Language and Culture (School of International Exchange) of our school successfully held the "FLTRP·ETIC Cup" National English Speech. The competition is in the preliminary round. Due to the impact of epidemic, this speech contest took the form of an online competition. More than 40 outstanding students from various departments of Shangzheng participated in this competition.
Speech theme:
This speech adopts the theme of the speech officially released nationwide by the organizing committee of the competition: China’s Wisdom for the World.
Process and Awards:
There are two preliminary rounds. The first round will be conducted by submitting speech videos and speech texts online. During the competition, starting from their personal understanding of the theme of the competition, the contestants talked about their experience and perception of "building a community with a shared future for mankind". After the selection by the judges, 14 contestants stood out and successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the Shangzheng preliminary competition. The second race will be held at the Tencent Conference. In addition to the "topic speech" part, the second schedule also added two parts: "impromptu speech" and "Q&A". The contestants draw the topic of the impromptu speech on the spot, and complete the conception and expression of the speech content within the specified time.
After fierce competition, one special prize, two first prizes, four second prizes, and six third prizes were finally determined:

This speech contest not only exercised the comprehensive English expression ability of the students, but also provided a good opportunity for the students to fully express themselves.
