On May 22nd, Prof. Dimitrios Papageorgiou, Rector of University of the Aegean, led a delegation and visited Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL). Prof. Gao Zhigang, Vice President of SHUPL, met with the delegation. Directors and deans of the relevant departments and schools of SHUPL attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Prof. Gao Zhigang extended a warm welcome to the delegation, reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities, and highlighted the new progress of SHUPL in the cultivation of international legal talents and discipline construction. Prof. Dimitrios Papageorgiou expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and looked forward to future cooperation between both sides in various types of programs, including long-term and short-term undergraduate and postgraduate exchanges.
In the afternoon, Prof. Efstratios Georgoulas, Vice Rector of University of the Aegean, delivered the 136th SHUPL Overseas Lecture titled Origins of Radical Criminology in the works of K. Marx. The lecture, through the analysis of typical cases, systematically sorted out the historical evolution, core essence and contemporary practical value of this theoretical system.
During the visit, the delegation also visited SHUPL 's moot court, library and other teaching and research facilities, and highly praised SHUPL 's modern educational conditions.
